August 22, 2015 representatives of the Ukrainian community in Scotland, Scottish activists of the Foundation "Friends of Ukraine", British citizens have come together to hold a reception dedicated to the 24th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine.

Consul of Ukraine welcomed the guests and noted the important contribution of Ukrainians abroad in the formation of Ukrainian state and defending its independence in these severe times:

"The role of Ukrainians living abroad is of pivotal importance -  for decades Ukrainian community has been a powerful force carrying the blue - yellow flag with a dignity in many countries, including the UK."
