President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a phone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.
The parties have discussed the situation in Donbas. They have expressed concern that the ceasefire regime was violated by the militants, particularly in the area of Debaltseve, despite the signature of the Minsk agreements on February 12.
Petro Poroshenko and John Kerry agree that insufficient access of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission for the monitoring and verification prevents de-escalation and further withdrawal of heavy armament. They emphasize the need for the fulfillment of all the items of the agreements, including the restoration of control over the Ukrainian-Russian border.
The parties have coordinated their positions on the further steps, in particular regarding the draft resolution of the UN Security Council on Ukraine.
Herewith John Kerry has assured Petro Poroshenko of USA's support towards Ukraine.
