Tartan Day celebrated in Abroath Abbey

By the invitation of Helen Oswald, Angus Council Provost, Consul General of Ukraine joined a group of colleagues to visit Arbroath Abbey for celebrating the launch of the Tartan Day Scotland Festival.
Arbroath Abbey is famous for its association with the 1320 Declaration of Arbroath.
April 6th – the signing day of the Declaration – has become a day to celebrate the Scottish culture and heritage.
Angus Council takes the lead in establishing a vision for a celebration of Tartan Day across the whole Scotland to the year 2020 and the 700th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath.
